Hi, I’m Melina. Whenever I go to a restaurant, something bizzare happens with my order- either it’s entirely forgotten, or it’s replaced by a dish I didn’t order, or the chef quits his job in the middle of making it- that’s happened! Twice! I’ve been told it’s an ancestral curse, and I’m beginning to believe it.

Aside from that, I’ve led a charmed and happy life on both side of the country- from New England where I was born to Seattle where I attended college and now Asheville, where I’m raising my own daughter.

I once worked aboard a ship, the M/V Safari Endeavour, where I was proud to be MPIC- Medical Person In Charge. I evacuated one person due to a heart attack and otherwise saw my fair share of non-emergency dental inconveniences.  Did you know the leading cause of medical evacuations on ships is due to dental issues?

One of my life goals is to reduce the waste that I produce on the planet, which is one of the greatest reasons I love photography: it’s a gift, whether you’re giving it to yourself or to others, and unlike most gifts it produces zero waste.
